What a delightful lead up to Easter this week has been
The weather has been delicious, everyone seems to be a lot happier with the bank holiday looming AND to top it all off..BBC screen one of my favourite animated movies EVER “The Prince of Egypt”. I have watched it times without numbers and each experience is just like the first time.
The musical score in this almost rivals ”The Lion King’s” (I said almost…)
It sometimes hard to fathom why this film caused so much offence and controversy. All I know is whether your religious or not I think this film is marvelous on telling the story of the Exodus out of Egypt. It’s great because for the younger generations it tells the story swiftly and simply, so they can understand with out having to pick up a bible . I mean, I explained what “The Passover” was to my 7yr old sister and she understood it with the help of the film. Magic! Of course being an animation that last just over an hour, the contents are not exactly accurate BUT nevertheless it’s beautiful.
Its got so many Hollywood stars from Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Danny glover, Michelle Pfiffer, Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren and more. Ralph Fiennes is just an amazing actor. Is there any part this man can’t play with perfection? Amazing, simply amazing. I love him!
Right I’m off to see if Lou still remembers what “The Passover” is about, though I doubt it.
Have a lovely Easter readers
